The Port of Portland handled nearly 1.4 million tons of cargo at its marine terminals in April, pushing its year-to-date totals up nearly 9 percent from a year ago.
Through April, about 5.3 million tons of cargo were shipped through the port's four marine terminals, an 8.8 percent increase from the same point a year ago.
